Today, Mastt was honoured to be recognised as one of Australia's Best Places to Work. The prestigious annual list, published by The Australian Financial Review and Boss Magazine, is based on a rigorous assessment process.
We were honoured to rank #8 on the construction industry list, from over 750 nominated organisations across Australia and New Zealand. The assessment was based on a staff survey and the policies, practices and programs we run to support our employees.
The methodology is underpinned by Inventium's Workplaces of the Future Framework, which identifies 10 key factors that are critical to employees feeling motivated and engaged at work.
Dia Linehan, our Head of Human Resources said:
"We would like to thank our staff members who took part in the assessment process and gave us honest feedback about how we are building a supportive, healthy work culture here at Mastt. The fact that Mastt is a young company - we are only two years - and went through the assessment amidst the pandemic lockdown in Sydney made this achievement much more meaningful to us. It's proof of our ongoing team effort in building resilience and maintaining employee wellbeing as we grow."
What is next for us
Since Mastt started in 2019, our team's wellbeing and benefits have been the priority. We value work-life balance, especially right now. We have lots to do to make Mastt an even better place to work as we expand internationally. As our HR Department grows, we have worked on and put in place many key policies that focus more on inclusiveness and diversity.
We understand the importance of mental health and wellbeing. Mental Health Days is an initiative that was recently introduced that allows employees to have extra 2 days paid holidays where they can take a break. There is also annual health & wellbeing allowance which can be used towards gym, fitness, and any other health related activity of employee's choice.
Supporting family & personal development
Mastt also offers generous paid Primary Carer 21 weeks leave, and 3 weeks partner parental leave paid for eligible team members.
Staff personal learning and development is another area that our budget is devoted for. We believe in growing and nurturing our future leaders within our business rather than filling leadership and management externally.
A brand-new architecturally designed office in Surry Hills will open very soon. While we have an office-first culture, our employees are still able to work from home when it suits them.
