A Phase is a segment of a project's lifecycle that represents a major milestone or a set of related activities. Projects are typically divided into multiple phases, and together with Milestones, provide a standardized 'Lifecycle' and a framework for better monitoring, control and reporting on projects, programs and portfolios.
